President Harry S.Truman delivers a rousing speech to thousands at 9th Street near Broadway and Saint Helens Avenue in downtown Tacoma. Washington Governor Mon Wallgren at far right, Winthrop Hotel in background. President Truman's wife Bess and daughter Margaret accompanied him during his cross-country tour.
