Scope and content
Tacoma shoppers crowd into the Sanford-Nash, Inc. showroom to see the two new lines of Nash cars for 1949. On Friday, October 22, 1948 Nash dealers across America introduced the new Nash "Ambassador" and "600" models. They were described at the time as being so drastically changed from the previous Nash designs that they had to be given the new branch name Nash Airflyte. According to one of the advertisements that accompanied their release, "By going all the way in aerodynamic design, we have achieved not only amazingly beautiful cars, but also revolutionary advances in roominess, comfort and performance." (T.Times, 10/21/1948, p.22)
