Helen B. Stafford (seated, second from right) carefully holds up a decoupage decorated ceramic plate so that Marilyn Canfield (far left) can see the image that has been transferred to its surface. In January of 1949, ceramics classes were in full swing at the Tacoma Y.W.C.A., 401 & 405 Broadway. The Y.W.C.A. was offering over a dozen evening and daytime courses and actives including square dancing, badminton, exercise classes and ceramics.
