Scope and content
On Tuesday May 17, 1949 the McDonald residence was moved by Rainbow Contractors, 3601 South Lawrence Street, from Salmon Beach to a section of land near Point Fosdick. Both this house, and the Streich residence were moved due to the threat of landslides. Residents of Salmon Beach, a small community on the edge to The Narrows just south of Point Defiance Park, were ordered to move because the April 13, 1949 earthquake that shook the whole Puget Sound region had made the cliff that towered over them unstable.
