Scope and content
Stepping out on Father's Day 1949 were Dr. Albert Ehrlich and his daughters, Joanne, age 3 1/2, and Joyce, who celebrated her 6th birthday on June 18th. The family's French poodle puppy "Dollie" joined them for the stroll. Dr. Ehrlich was a physician in Tacoma for 38 years, having been a resident here since 1937. In 1949, the year of this photograph, his office was located at the Tacoma Medical Center, 1206 South 11th Street. He and his family resided then at 802 North Yakima in a Kirtland Cutter-designed home once nominated as one of the most beautiful homes in the city. Dr. Ehrlich was a member of the Tacoma First Baptist Church, Afifi Shrine, Knights Templer, Lincoln Park Royal Arch Chapter, and other associations. He died in 1986 at the age of 80. Photograph ordered by the Tribune, Barbara Dana. (TNT 3/16/1986, Pg. B-2-obituary; TNT 6-19-49, D-1-alternate picture)
