Scope and content
An exterior view of Robert Hall Clothes, Inc. Robert Hall Clothes, a 50-year old clothing organization, was one of the nation's largest clothing chains. The new clothing salesroom, opened September 15, 1949, introduced Tacoma to the super-market technique as applied to clothing sales. It was one of 15 other retail units that were opened by the store chain within the period of a week. Seven stores, from San Francisco to Seattle, held simultaneous openings as the Robert Hall organization invaded the west coast. William Douval was manager of this location. Large neon letters spell out the store name. This location had formerly been a garage and grocery store. (TNT, 9/2/1949, p.A-6) TPL-10535
