Huge pie, 42" across, George H. Hedden, 1918 So. 56th St. A large crowd of patients at Madigan General Hospital gathers around for a piece of a 42" mincemeat pie that weighed 150 pounds. The Red Cross recreation staff staged the "county fair" party for the patients. The event included such contests as nail driving, egg throwing (with ping pong balls) and hog calling. Some men are on crutches, a few in wheel chairs and someone is on a gurney. A stage is in the background. (TNT, 12/17/1949, p.B-5) TPL-10398
