Scope and content
Publicity photographs for spring campaign, Infantile Paralysis League, Judy Gordon. Seven-year-old Jackie Bowmer laces himself into braces on both his legs after physical therapy at the Pierce County Hospital while his younger brother, Larry, who also had polio, holds his crutches. Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Bowmer had another child who did not develop polio. Jackie received physical therapy treatments twice a week. The annual March of Dimes drive was the only means by which funds were obtained to assist families like the Bowmers. (TNT, 1/25/1950, p.6)
