Scope and content
Bill Philip is feeding his young son, Billy, with a baby bottle. They are seated in the boy's room fitted out with a baby bath where clean towels and clothing are stored. Happy circus-theme wallpaper is shown on the wall beside them. Bill Philip worked in his father's business delivering dynamite, among other supplies, to local mines when he and Mary Lee Odlin were married in 1948. Mary Lee's father, Reno Odlin, then president of Puget Sound Bank, didn't think that driving a dynamite truck was the right kind of job for his son-in-law so he found Bill a job with Puget Sound National Bank not long afterwards. Bill Philip took to the banking business and became president and chief executive officer of the bank in 1971 following Al Saunders. (Banking on Independence, Barry L. Provorse)
