Scope and content
The exterior of the new location of Apex Cleaners. The company was opened in Tacoma in 1944 by Mrs. Ninamae Boone and Mrs. Edna Ellington when their husbands were overseas with the U.S. Navy. The latest modern equipment was installed in the new structure. The one-story cleaning facility is built of concrete block with a brick veneer on the street side and was designed to give plenty of light and room to work. A neon sign is attached to the upper, left corner of the building. Ordered by Vern Williams. (TNT, 5/27/1950, p.11)
