Scope and content
On June 15, 1950 Harry (Henry) LaVon is pictured holding the body of a large model airplane while a young woman is working on another model airplane. Other models hang from the ceiling and sample wings are hanging from the wall. Harry and his parents resided at 6625 South Prospect. By the time Harry was 15, in 1952, he had won model plane championships every year in various divisions since 1949. He was the junior champion in the international model plane contest sponsored by Plymouth Motor Co. held in Detroit in August of 1952. (TNT 8-26-1952, p. 1-article & photo of the young champion)
