Scope and content
Bellarmine boys, members of the Junior Red Cross, gather to deliver posters for the American Red Cross. The boys delivered posters and other advertising material for the 3/1/1951 national fund raising campaign kick off. The 1951 Red Cross poster, painted by Norman Rockwell and gifted to the Red Cross, featured Tacoma native Coe Norton holding a first aid kit. The poster illustrated American workers moving against worldwide threats to liberty and peace. Kneeling, left to right, are George Dibert, Larry Rowley, Patrick Chapman and Peter Henriot. Standing, left to right, are Pete Walker, Jim Healey, Terry Griffith, Don Hutt, Gene Longen and Bob Thaden. Standing on the car roof top are Bob Girard and Don Bucako. (TNT 2/25/1951, pg. 1)
