Scope and content
The Midland Orthopedic Guild coordinated and ran the annual Guild garden sale in April 1951. This annual project was a combined project of several guilds in the Tacoma Orthopedic group and sponsorship rotated among them. The sale of perennials, annuals, flowering shrubs, bulbs and farm fertilizer was held at 1120 South K Street (now Martin Luther King Jr Way), adjacent to the K Street shopping district. Pacific hybrid delphiniums were a special feature. Members of Midland Orthopedic Guild seen here gathering plants for the sale are: Mrs. LaVerne Olsen, in the wheelbarrow; and (l to r) Mrs. Marie Christensen, Mrs. Elmer Brott and Mrs. Henry Teffre.
