Scope and content

Scottish Bagpipers and Scotty Nyles at the Winthrop Hotel. The entire pipe and drum band pose for their group portrait wearing their specific uniforms. The pipers wear white spats, carry a cape over their shoulders and the pockets of their jackets are decorated with white piping. The drummers wear lighter colored jackets with white belts and cross-pieces. One of the drummers wears an animal skin down his front to soften the weight of the largest drum. Three men in the center of the front row, possibly the drum majors, wear somewhat darker jackets, berets and dark socks.
