These women are forty of the 170 housewives who completed Red Cross certificates in home nursing to be able to care for the sick in their own homes as part of defense in emergency. Names are listed in the newspaper. The American Red Cross was also 70 years old in May 1951. They reported that $1,000,000,000 had been spent at home and overseas in the 50 years since its first report to Congress.
