Governor Arthur B. Langlie presents the Governor's Safety Trophy at awards ceremony during the pulp and paper industry's safety conference at the Winthrop Hotel. Longview Fibre Co. of Longview, Washington, was honored with the trophy for the lowest accident rate in the preceding year. The awards ceremony was held at the conclusion of the two-day Washington State Joint Labor-Management Safety Conference which was topped off by a banquet at the Winthrop on January 24, 1952.
