Walter E. Holman, vice president of the National Junior Chamber of Commerce, was nabbed by Tacoma police and officials as he stepped from a northbound plane on March 12, 1936 bearing the national charter for the Tacoma Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was met by a squadron of three motorcycle policemen who "arrested " him for exceeding the air speed limit and turned him over to the custody of the local club celebrating at the Winthrop Hotel.
