Scope and content
A plywood sign that instructs drivers to "Use Both Lanes - One Way Traffic" is mounted on a light post by the old viaduct from Pacific Avenue to Stadium Way. Plywood was a versatile product with many uses. Instead of a metal sign, plywood was used because of its durability; it could be made waterproof and would present a pleasing appearance. View of plywood sign and cars traveling on viaduct. According to the small plaque, the viaduct was erected in 1923 during the administration of Mayor C.M. Riddell. The Old Public Safety (NP) Building is at far right. Ordered by Douglas Fir Plywood Association.
