Scope and content
General Mills at Pt. Defiance picnic. This appears to be a fishing derby with several anglers posing with their salmon and an outboard motor, which was possibly being offered as the prize. General Mills, formerly Sperry Flour Mills, had been doing business in Tacoma for 50 years. The company produced well known flours, employed 250 men and had an annual payroll of over 1 million dollars. (TNT 9/4/1953, C-10)
