Mrs. Bess Duncan Wells of Portland, national president of the Gold Star Mothers, paid a visit to Tacoma on December 10, 1938, to install the Tacoma chapter of the Gold Star Mothers into the national organization. Mrs. Wells is standing third from the left. The installation was held at the home of Mrs. Nellie Mosier, 1633 E. 29th, before many charter members and guests representing various patriotic organizations. (T.
