After repainting in green and blue, the Junior League Thrift Store is ready to reopen in early 1939. Members established the thrift store in 1930 to support their Well Baby Clinic. At counter: Mrs. John Gregg, Cornelia Marie Cardin, Mrs. John Bates Roberts. The woman identified by the Tacoma Times as Cornelia Marie Cardin was known to her family as "Connie Rie;" and, according to her daughter, she married Paul Sheppard Savidge, Jr. of Tacoma on December 7, 1940.
