Aerial photograph near Port of Tacoma. An aerial view of the Blair Bridge (Port Industrial Waterway Bridge), over the Port Industrial Waterway, was taken for the Port of Tacoma in May, 1954. Three mothballed WWII flattops, "Jeep" Carriers, are in background. There were 25 mothballed escort carriers kept in working condition by the Tacoma Group, Pacific Reserve Fleet. The ships were kept in readiness for warfare. Log dumps can be spotted close by. TPL-8723
