Scope and content

Facial close up of 23 year old Margaret Franich, candidate for Golden Jubilee Queen. Miss Franich was later crowned "Miss Pierce County." She wears a flowered dress with a lace edged neckline and a white wide brimmed picture hat. She is classically attractive with softly curling brown hair, wide eyes under delicately arched brows and a cupid's bow mouth. Miss Franich was a graduate of Stadium High School, where she had taken part in the school operas. She served as the Hostess Queen of the 1939 all community picnic sponsored by the Maccabees at Glendawn Park at Five Mile Lake. Miss Franich was the winner of the Maccabees Smiles contest in 1938.
