Scope and content
Nighttime exposure of visibility testing for signs made of various materials. The signs of plywood, fiberglass, steel and aluminum were subjected to many different tests to decide which material was most suitable for signage. The signs were shot with guns, hit with hammers and generally abused. The tests were designed and recorded by the Douglas Fir Plywood Association, which was well known for monitoring and improving its own product.
