Rhythm class at College of Puget Sound. D. Robert Smith, instructor. Students are equipped with drumsticks and sheet music. D. Robert Smith was the organ instructor at C.P.S. and also the organist-director at First Methodist Church. He is at the extreme right of the photograph's foreground. Professor Smith is leading his students in an exercise developed by Louis Wersen consisting of a sight singing course. In the front row are: Lola Duval, Bette Brock, Hatsuye Kurose, Grace McLean, Gertrude Soinila and Betty Piatt. In the second row are: Marguerite Rath, Julian Macpherson, John Carter, Florence Schwan, Janixe Green, Marvelle Jenson and Charles Trombley. Photograph was taken on October 26, 1939. (T.
