Scope and content
The Christmas shopping season is in full swing at the Leo McGavick home at 619 No. I St. on December 14, 1939. Left to right, Mary Patricia, Leo Jr. and Rosalie McGavick stand outside the front door laden with gifts. Mary Patricia rings the doorbell as she and her sister, dressed identically in coats, fur scarves, muffs, shiny mary janes and hats, wait patiently for the door to open. Leo Jr., in a coat and hat over short pants, has both hands full of gifts as he watches his older sister. (T. Times 12/16/1939, pg. 5)
