Studio portrait of author Murray Morgan, 1956. Noted historian Murray Morgan, a native of Tacoma, graduated from the University of Washington and Columbia University. He held positions with Time, CBS World News, and the New York Herald Tribune. Mr. Murray also taught journalism and Northwest history at local institutions of higher learning. His books have been translated into 15 languages. Skid Road and South on the Sound involve Seattle and Pierce County history, respectively, and The Dam was a story about the Coulee Dam.
