Scope and content
This well dressed (unidentified) young man and his equally well dressed dog competed on May 18, 1940 in the annual Mutt Parade sponsored by the Commerce Street Business Men's Club. A record number of entries were expected to take part and over 70 prizes had been donated by local merchants for the winners in 24 categories including: best appearing dog, shortest dog, homliest dog and best behaved dog. This dog might have had a good chance to win "Best comic costumed dog". (T.Times 5/17/1940 p.1)
