Scope and content

Nancy Linebaugh was typical of the many "war widows" employed at the Seattle-Tacoma shipyards during August of 1943. Her husband Haden was attending Marine officers' school and rather than sitting at home, she was doing her bit to help the war effort by working in the accounting department at the shipyards. The couple had met at Rainier National Park, where she was employed and he was a Park Ranger. The couple had a three year old son, Haden Jr. Mrs. Linebaugh played the piano and favored popular music.
