Scope and content

ca. 1936. Estelle (Mrs. J.C.) Gould and daughter Jedell. Estelle sits on padded bench under arched window surrounded by wood spool design and holds a cat. Jedell stands on bench to left. The background appears to be the interior of the Yorktheimer mansion at 27 Broadway. The home was demolished in 1959 to make room for the construction of Belmont Terrace, an apartment building. The interiors were sold to Steve Pease who incorporated them into his restaurant "Steve's Gay 90's." Mrs. Gould was one of the Yorktheimers four daughters.
