Vivian Weber's wedding party posed in front of the altar at Divine Science church on May 19, 1940. Miss Weber was joined in marriage to Alfred E. Laybourn, Jr. on that Sunday afternoon in ceremonies officiated by Rev. Henry Victor Morgan, who had married the bride's parents 24 years before. The bride wore a white slipper satin gown and carried a large bouquet of lilies of the valley, roses and forget-me-nots. Agnes Smith, in rose taffeta, was her maid of honor and Marylouise Pelle and Madeline Paulson, both in turquiose blue taffeta, were bridesmaids. Allyce Weber was her sister's junior maid of honor. Robert Doubleday was Mr. Laybourn's best man and Richard George, Phillilp Nelson and Corey Knutson served as ushers. Mary Jane Hewitt was the flower girl. The newlyweds' first home was in Tacoma.
