Sea trials. Ship trials were underway for the "Polaris," in May of 1970. She had been successfully launched at Martinac Shipbuilding's yard two months before. The 165-foot tuna seiner had a frozen fish capacity of 650-ton. Owned by Joseph and Edmund Gann of San Diego, the "Polaris" would be used for fishing in South America and Africa.
