Laybourn, Jr. on that Sunday afternoon in ceremonies officiated by Rev. Henry Victor Morgan, who had married the bride's parents 24 years before. The bride wore a white slipper satin gown and carried a large bouquet of lilies of the valley, roses and forget-me-nots. Agnes Smith, in rose taffeta, was her maid of honor and Marylouise Pelle and Madeline Paulson, both in turquiose blue taffeta, were bridesmaids. Allyce Weber was her sister's junior maid of honor. Robert Doubleday was Mr. Laybourn's best man and Richard George, Phillilp Nelson and Corey Knutson served as ushers. Mary Jane Hewitt was the flower girl. The newlyweds' first home was in Tacoma. Buness-Payne Wedding. 300-400 guests were present at the double ring ceremony uniting Evelyn Lorraine Buness and Clinton Dwight Payne on June 18, 1948. The evening nuptials were held at Bethesda Baptist Church and officiated by the Rev. Marion Flint. Louise Buness, the bride's sister, was her maid-of-honor and the groom's brother, Bud, was his best man. The bride wore a floor-length ivory satin gown with beadwork on the front. Her bouquet had a large orchid and stephanotis. Evelyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buness and Clinton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Payne. Lockwood-Boyle wedding. Carol-Lu Wesson Lockwood and Donald James Boyle were joined in holy matrimony in a morning ceremony at St. John of the Woods Church on November 17, 1951. This was a very large wedding with ten attendants in addition to two flower girls and two ring-bearers. The bride wore her mother's cream colored satin wedding gown.
