The main dining room, which is magnificently equipped, is called the "Viking Room," deriving its name from the painted frieze around the walls. Tacoma Hotel was erected in 1884, and enlarged and remodeled in 1905.

It was moved to its present location in 1957 to make room for super highway expansion.
