Pullen, who happens to be the 1985 Washington State Chess Champion, is the chair of the committee. He supported a Senate resolution which asked the officials of the Soviet Union to allow Elena's 7-year-old daughter, Dana, to leave the Soviet Union and come to live with her mother in Seattle. Donaldson said that his wife would eventually apply for American citizenship.
