Her attendant pictured is possibly Darlene Harris, her maid of honor, who is wearing a pink taffeta dress with overskirts of blue and pink net. Valerie Joyce McDowell and Milton Dean Haugen were married on March 22, 1958, at the Central Lutheran Church. The new couple will be making their home in South Tacoma. Strickland-Taylor wedding. Formal portrait of Mamie Elizabeth Strickland on her wedding day of October 23, 1965. She wed Rev. Richard Edward Taylor at the Allen A.M.E. Church, 1411 Yakima Ave. So. According to engagement information published in the April 18, 1965, News Tribune, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grady A. Strickland. Rev. Taylor was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie P.
