Titus Motor Company was an official Ford automobile dealership, most commercial and personal Ford automobiles in the Tacoma area came from Titus Motor. They offered their customers complete automobile maintenance and servicing, and were the authorized dealers for "Champion" car products. Engines are taken from Ford cars and trucks, then replaced with a rebuilt engine by the Titus plant, payment is made with the trade in of the old engine and cash. Testing includes the engine being spun at over 800 r.p.m. while its operation, sound and oil pressure are carefully monitored. This service is available to individual owners, garages and Ford dealers. In July 1946, as engine rebuilding demand and production increased, the Titus Motor Company had to restructure their engine rebuilding department which became Titus Manufacturing Company.This is an interior view of Titus Manufacturing Company's engine rebuilding shop. Two men are working on Ford "flathead" V-8 engines while two other men work in machine tools. The Titus shop was at 6th and Broadway. In later years Titus-Will had a body shop in the same building.

Titus Manufacturing Company currently rebuilds about 750 engines per month and employs 65 mechanics, full-time. In October 1947 Titus reached 20,000 completed and tested rebuilt engines. Titus Motor Company started engine rebuilding during World War II, in order to maintain and improve essential transportation needed during the war. The first month of production they rebuilt 20 engines and designated three mechanics to work full-time on engine rebuilding. Leon E. Titus is a pioneer car dealer in Washington, starting in Centralia in 1912, and taking over the Tacoma dealership in 1937. Annual Christmas party at Sanford Nash Company, Everyone had a wonderful time at Sanford Nash Company's annual Christmas party. It was a time to celebrate the holiday season with family and co-workers. Santa, pictured above on December 22, 1947, handed out large turkeys to Sanford Nash employees. Staff members proudly hold their turkeys and think about enjoying them at their family Christmas dinners.

Sanford Nash Company celebrated the holiday season with their annual Christmas party. Sanford Nash sold new and used Ramblers and Nash automobiles, they had a service department for maintenance and repairs, and sold parts and accessories. Display of new trucks at Titus Motor Company, Mr. Monrad, Sconce Advertising. The 1948 models included a one-half ton panel, a two ton chassis, a 3 ton chassis and a F-8 heavy duty. The F-7 and F-8 models, both new in 1948, were powered by 145 hp motors. All the 48's featured the "million-dollar" body (because dies used in their porduction cost that much), new car comfort, quarter-glass side windows for no-draft ventilation and a one piece windshield. Showroom at City Motor Company, Oldsmobile, Anson Hart. The new 1948 model Oldsmobile offered many new developments: a streamlined body design with increased front and rear visibility with curved glass, wider seats, more luxurious upholstery and interior trim.
