All born on March 28, 1949, these six babies celebrated their one year birthday in the Daffodil Room of the Winthrop Hotel, which had its grand opening on the day they were born. Thirteen babies in Tacoma, 9 girls and 4 boys, were born on the same day as the popular restaurant, named for the Puyallup Valley's bright yellow spring flowers. In recognition of this fact, the babies and their parents were invited to be birthday guests of the restaurant. They were also presented with silver piggybanks engraved with their names. In the picture are, left to right: Marcia Garrett, Danny Fear, Bobby Nino, Claudia Knecht, Virginia Anderson, and Tamara Lanning. (TNT 3/26/1950, pg. D-11) (The names listed above are not in order. Bobby Nino is fourth baby from the left.)
