Contains the registration forms for Pierce County women residents signing up to volunteer for national service. The forms range from April-May 1917 and are arranged numerically by form number from numbers 0-1247. The forms contain some biographical information about the registered women including their age, address, amount of schooling received, current occupation, and the nationality of their parents. Additionally, there is a list of services needed that women can denote interest or experience in, some examples are Social Club Work, Cooking, Gardening, Industrial Shops or Factories, Medical and Nursing, Motor Driving, and Clerical work.

Includes extensive correspondence, organized alphabetically and chronologically, in addition to subject files. Also included are financial records from Henry Foss and information about his service in the U.S Naval Reserve.

"City Arts" was a monthly magazine which began in Tacoma, Washington, and would soon after have Eastside and Seattle editions, which then consolidated into one edition after September 2011. (1) The magazine was published by Encore Media Group and covered local artists and events in the Tacoma/Seattle area. It contained sections about local art news, lifestyle, and has a featured artist section as well. At the end of each magazine there is a calendar that listed local events happening throughout the month. Some types of events include movies showings, live music, dance, theater, comedy shows, visual art displays, and book talks.

For your information was a publication produced by the Washington State Defense Council during the second world war. It contained primarily domestic news related to the war effort such as Victory gardens and articles encouraging civilians to recycle extra scraps of rubber and metal. It contained occasional photographs and illustrations, particularly in the later issues, of political comics related to the war in the pacific.

The residents of Kosmos were displaced in 1967 to make way for the dam project.

The Coast Magazine, also known as Wilhelm's Magazine The Coast and The Coast: An Illustrated Magazine of the West, features photographs, articles, editorials, and creative writing related to the Western United States. Published by Honor Wilhelm out of Seattle, the magazine primarily covered the Pacific Northwest including topics like mining, forestry, ships and shipping, and various small towns and cities across the region. Wilhelm wrote for the publication and solicited contributions from other writers and photographers.

The ledger labeled “Cash Book” tracks Captain Geddes’s arrivals and departures from 1952 through 1960. It also contains of the ship master’s cash account. The black leather-bound book labeled “Journal” also contains the ship master’s expense account during Geddes’s captainship of the S.S. Wendell Phillips in 1942. The composition book tracks the port arrivals and departures of the S.S. Wendel Phillips from 1942-1943.

Includes writings, diaries, genealogical research, family newsletters, and photographs relating to the Forsberg and Sauers families. Also includes is an an unpublished manuscript titles The Oakes Street Gang written by Malcolm Forsberg about his experience growing up in South Tacoma.

Includes correspondence, reports, newspaper clippings, photos, and other documents related to Wanda Thompson’s life. Many of the documents pertain to Thompson’s career including her time as a model, job analyst for Puget Sound Bank, employee at the Washington State Department of Corrections, and the Executive Director of the Rehabilitation Council of Washington State. The papers also point to Thompson’s involvement with the community in Tacoma like her engagement with the Afro-Pageant and Show. Also included is an oral history with Wanda Thompson recorded on June 3, 2023.

Pandora was a feminist newspaper based in Seattle, Washington that ran from 1970 to 1979. It was published biweekly until May 1974 when it started being published once a month. Pandora focused on women's issues and topics like, motherhood, reproductive rights, personal safety, misogyny, sexual assault, and lesbianism. These topics were discussed in the form of news articles, opinion pieces, and creative writings like poetry. Pandora also gave its readers resources and information about women's groups or activist organizations in the region.

The Good Fruit Grower publishes stories and news related to fruit farming in the Pacific Northwest. The periodical provides sections that report on production in the fruit farming industry and highlights events for the farming community. Good Fruit Grower is owned and published by the Washington State Fruit Commission.

Includes research, writing drafts, correspondence, and other materials related to Tacoma's Japanese community gathered by Ronald Magden for his book "Furusato: Tacoma-Pierce County Japanese."

Includes mostly mailers, flyers, newspaper clippings, sample ballots and voter guides from various political races in and around Tacoma and Pierce County as well as election races for state and federal positions. Material related to bond measures, levies, initiatives, propositions and referendums are also present. Series marked c. 1980-c. 1995 contain material sorted by the politician's last name.

American Forests was a monthly magazine published by the American Forestry Association that covered articles related to forests, soil, wildlife and outdoor recreation. It also advocated for forest resources and environmental policies that would protect forests.

Architecture West was a monthly magazine published by Pacific Builder & Engineer, Inc. It covered western architecture and had articles on building and office designs, structural designs and materials used to build the new structures along the western states.

Business Examiner was a biweekly business newspaper published by PCBE, Inc. that began in 1985 as the Pierce County Business Examiner. A second newspaper started in 1989 called the South Sound Business Examiner, and both papers ran simultaneously until they combined in 1995 as Business Examiner. It published articles about business that included profiles, trends, techniques, theories and economic issues. Its goal was to support and inform the local business community that encompassed the Puget Sound and South Sound areas.

Also in the holdings are the Business Examiner supplement "Book of Lists: Market Data & Facts", which was published yearly and featured a "compilation of industry leaders in South Puget Sound business".

Newsletter for the Northwest Railway Museum, which is based in Snoqualmie, Washington, in King County, that focuses on various railroad news, the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad in particular, plus activities and events held by the museum. The first publication is titled “Puget Sound and Snoqualmie Valley Railroad” (June 1976) before changing the name to "The Sounder", and the first four quarterly publications: (Holiday 1976 – Spring 1978) are in a magazine-like format. Newsletter then changed to a monthly format in 1977 and later a bi-monthly format with occasional monthly special edition issues in September 2006 and a quarterly format from Winter 2010 to the present.

The Cog-nitive Courier was a monthly newsletter published by the Tacoma Wheelmen’s Bicycle Club. It was originally established in 1888 and was later restarted in 1974. The newsletter changed names from the Tacoma Wheelman’s Bicycle Club Newsletter to the Cog-nitive Courier in April 2002. In its issues, it contains meetup information for club members, ride calendars for biking trips, information regarding bicycling laws around Tacoma, pictures from past rides, and general news. The final printed version of the Cog-nitive Courier was published in July 2012 due to a lack of an editor.

The Northwest Asian Weekly is a weekly newspaper based out of Seattle, WA and serves the Pacific Northwest region. It began publication in 1992 and is still producing weekly newspapers. The Northwest Asian Weekly covers local, national, and international news, local events, sports, editorials and commercial advertisements. Print edition ceased with 01/21/2023 issue, and publication is online only.

The Woman Voter is a monthly magazine published by the League of Women Voters of Tacoma/Pierce County. It changed its name to The Voter in 1931, and covered politics on the local and national level. Its goal was to inform women voters of their civic responsibility and it published articles on political events, local political issues, and supported candidates for office. After it became a newsletter its topics were more focused on its own members in the League of Women Voters and published meetings, activities, calendars of events and financial/budgetary matters concerning the organization.

The Arts was a monthly newsletter published by the King County Arts Commission. It published information about the arts as a public service for local artists and organizations, and supported local events and groups funded by the commission.
