A collection of photographs by professional and amateur photographers throughout the years of the Washington State Fair/Puyallup Fair from 1900-2011. Original photograph collection is held by the Washington State Fair and not at Tacoma Public Library. First and last names of the photographers are listed when known. Unknown photographers have been filed in the decade in which it was taken.

Includes photographs organized by topic and maintained by TNT staff. Some files may include a single photograph while others may contain many different photographs.

Nallevents was a periodic publication produced by Nalley's for its employees and shareholders that contained things like quarterly profits, short articles about their employees, and occasional competitions.

Nalley's the company operated a food product plant in Tacoma, the namesake of "Nalley Valley", it underwent changes in the mid-1990s and closed entirely in the 2010s, but their products are still sold today through several larger retail stores like Walmart. At their peak, Nalley operated plants and sold products throughout the western United States, from Texas up to Washington.

The Indian Historian was a periodical that ran from 1964-1980. It was published monthly and quarterly for the years of 1976 and 1977. Before and after those years it seems to have been only published quarterly. The Indian Historian focused on issues related to Indigenous peoples in the United States like sovereignty, cultural practices, education and land rights. The writings in the periodical include historical writings, opinion pieces and poetry.

Cascades was a regional bi-monthly promotional and lifestyles magazine published by Pacific Telephone Northwest beginning in October 1960 until May 1961 and later Pacific Northwest Bell beginning in July 1961. Subjects featured in the magazine included history, book reviews, travel, editorials and self-promotional articles all pertaining to the Northwest region. Cascades would turn into a quarterly magazine with its Summer 1964 through Winter 1966 issues before returning to a bi-monthly publication from April 1967 through 1970. Cascades then changed again to a quarterly publication beginning in 1971.

This quarterly magazine “dedicated to safety in the Northwest” began March 30, 1939, under the name of Capitol Capers, which was a monthly newspaper published for Washington State workers that focused on governmental news and lifestyle stories in and around Olympia, Washington. Capitol Capers then briefly became the Washington Observer newspaper between Oct. 31, 1940 through May 20, 1941 before transitioning to the Capitol Observer that year. The Capitol Observer changed its primary focus from state government news to issues about general safety in the Spring 1958 issue and converted to a magazine format in the summer of that same year.

The Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC) News was first published in 1985. NWIFC is published quarterly and changed its name in Fall 2015 to "Northwest Treaty Tribes: Protecting Natural Resources for Everyone". NWIFC focuses on issues regarding the climate crisis, conservation of fish and other animals, habitat preservation, tribal traditions, and treaty rights.

The Negro History Bulletin, now known as The Black History Bulletin, was first established in 1937 by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. It was published first monthly, then bi-monthly in 1976 and changed to quarterly in 1979. The Black History Bulletin publishes articles on important Black historical figures, moments of Black history, and current events relating to the civil rights and lived experience of Black Americans. The Bulletin has also featured advertisements for colleges, historical exhibitions, and Black History Week/Month.

Diversity News was a business periodical based in Seattle that aimed to serve a "diverse marketplace." Diversity News was published monthly and provided profiles of business professionals and businesses created by people from diverse backgrounds. Diversity News also published advertisements from both local businesses and large corporations.

Northwest Energy News was published monthly by the Northwest Power Planning Council. It included articles on the inner workings of the Northwest Power Planning Council, and other news involving power plants, town hall meetings, conservation, etc.

The Northwest Environmental Journal was published by the Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Washington. It aimed to publish research involving the environment in the states of Alaska, Idaho, western Montana, Oregon, Washington, and northwest Canada. The journal included research that was also multidisciplinary, including works involving the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. It was usually published bi-annually.

Different Times was based in Seattle Washington and focused on disability rights. The publication was "dedicated to the proposition that all are created different, but equal." Different Times included articles about important events in the news that pertain to those with disabilities, articles that gave advice, like how to file an ADA complaint, opinion pieces, etc. Different Times was published mostly monthly, with short stints where it was published weekly, and every two months.

Puget Sound Computer User was a free monthly publication with its main goals to provide information regarding trends, tools, and guides to the computer world as well as offering articles on business technology, office automation, and computers. Each publication also included ads highlighting local businesses specializing in computer or tech-related services.

Includes annual meeting materials, membership directories, "They Represent You" brochures, studies, and scrapbooks.

Northwest Air Lifter is a publication for the Lewis-McChord Airforce Base. The publication features national news headlines relating to the military. It also features stories and information on people and events in the McChord Base community.

Includes interviews conducted by Franklin Pierce High School students for an Ethnic Studies class with teacher Dan Call. Students interviewed family, friends, and other community members about race, racial identity, microaggressions, and discrimination. Interview transcripts created by students have been produced for some audio recordings.

Includes speeches, thank you notes, schedules, and event information related to Baarsma's two terms as Mayor of Tacoma. Also included are two boxes predating Baarsma's mayoral career containing research materials as well as correspondence, campaign materials, and newsletters related to Pierce County and national democratic politicians.

Includes publications, reports, internal memos, newspaper clippings, and other documentation related to the operations, closure, and cleanup of the ASARCO site in Tacoma. Also included are extensive photographic documentation of personnel, facilities, and cleanup activities from 1948 to 2009.

Weekly newspaper primarily focused on issues of relevance to Tacoma's Black community. At various points, the title appeared as "The Tacoma Facts" and "The Northwest Facts." In the 1970s, the paper advertised itself as "the newspaper most people prefer for information about Tacoma's Minority Communities."

Real Change describes itself as the "Puget Sound Newspaper of the Poor and Homeless." The publication's first issue was in 1994. Real Change is published by the Real Change Homeless Empowerment Project which is a nonprofit organization that "organizes, educates, and builds alliances to create solutions to homelessness and poverty. We exist to provide a voice for the poor people in our community." The Real Change newspaper is published every other Thursday and sold by the poor and homeless of Seattle. Real Change publishes on local political issues, homeless advocacy, employment information etc. It also publishes creative writing like poetry as well as book reviews.

The Northwest Metalworker describes itself as "The Magazine For Machinists and Related Tradesmen." It is published monthly. The Northwest Metalworker publishes on new technologies, new products, safety, and trade education. They also publish reader write-ins.

The Kalma Hagan Scrapbook includes pictures and newspaper clippings involving the Hawthorne neighborhood, the construction of the Tacoma Dome, and the aftermath of the construction.

Includes research files, teaching materials, and other documentation related to Professor Michael Honey's work in civil rights and labor history. Also included are projects created by students enrolled in Honey's community history classes focused on figures and topics in Tacoma's history.

Includes an oral history with Sulja Warnick along with digital copies of photographs, newspaper clippings, and correspondence related to Warnick's life and career.

This collection includes newspaper articles, notes, legal records, and other documents about the Puyallup-based radio station, KAYE, and the controversies surrounding some of the individuals involved in the radio station, including Jim Nicholls and Fred Crisman aka Jon Gold. Also included are newspaper clippings about political topics, many of which were controversial topics on KAYE. A large majority of the materials in this collection are legal documents about KAYE's renewal case as well as letters of support for the station, as the station was accused of violating the Fairness Doctrine outlined by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Documents from the FCC about its guidelines for radio as well as documents about the Fairness Doctrine are also included.

Includes meeting minutes, programs, and planning documents related to the Tacoma Centennial Celebration.

The Homefinder was published by Children's Home Society of Washington quarterly and focused the adoption, fostering, and education of children in Washington state. The title was Washington Children's Homefinder from its inception up to September 1964 (Vol.66 No.3). The publication would often include pictures of children and information on adoption, fostering, homeschooling, and social services.

The Mazama Bulletin is published by Mazamas, a non-profit mountaineering organization that was founded in 1894 and is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. The Mazama Bulletin is published bi-monthly, and, in the past, has had a monthly and yearly edition as well. The bulletin publishes articles about hikes, classes, and climbs put on by Mazamas, issues surrounding conservation, responsible recreation, and outdoor education.
