This was how the 920-930 block of Broadway appeared in September of 1946. Starting on the left was the Kress Building, 934-36 Broadway. It was built in 1925 for the S.H. Kress & Co. dimestore and now houses the Tacoma Children's Museum and is on the city's historic registry. Next was Leed's Shoes at 932 Broadway. Payless Drugs was located next in the Gardner-Wallace Block, 928-30 Broadway. The building was built in 1906 and designed by G.W. Bullard, architect. Payless occupied the building from 1935-1979. The distinctive building on the right was the Pythian Temple, 924-26 Broadway. It was designed by Frederick Heath, architect, for the Knights of Pythias and was constructed in 1906. It is on both the City and the National Registry. Photograph ordered by Amocat Realty Company.
