Annie Wright Seminary Christmas Doll Bazaar. Group of young women with dolls arranged in a village scene. The girls are all wearing the same uniform-type dress. The doll bazaar was an annual event at the school, with proceeds going to benefit the Bishop Huston Missionary Society. The bazaar opened with a doll buggy parade by the school's littlest girls. The event on December 4, 1937 drew 400 parents and friends of students. (T. Times, Society, 12/11/1937, p. 7)

Annie Wright Seminary Christmas Doll Bazaar. The traditional event was held December 4, 1937. Each class of students was responsible for arranging their dolls in their own unique manner. Thomas- Sack Wedding at Annie Wright Seminary. Mrs. Sack (the former Mary Berry Thomas) and her groom, Bernard Albert Sack, pose in front of the altar. The wedding was held on the afternoon of September 22, 1937 in the Raynor Chapel at Annie Wright Seminary. The bride was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse O. Annie Wright Seminary Winter Formal Dance, TNT, Ernie Knight. The freshman and sophomore classes planned the winter formal dance at Annie Wright Seminary in honor of the juniors and seniors. The "Winter Wonderland" was complete with a ceiling of blue crepe paper from which hung hundreds of snowflakes. Guests entered through a gateway covered with glistening boughs guarded by snowmen. Dagmar Quevli and Fred Veatch are pictured on January 24, 1948 entering through the arch followed by Mary Carol Thompson and Wayne Knight. (TNT 1/24/1944, p.5; 1/28/1948, p.10)

The Right Reverend Thomas Jenkins, retired Episcopal Bishop of Nevada, at Annie Wright Seminary. Portrait taken in March of 1950 when Rev. Jenkins visited Tacoma to deliver a series of three lectures on "The Resurrection" sponsored by the Episcopal Men of Pierce County. Rev. Jenkins was born in 1871 and died in 1955. The Right Reverend Stephen Fielding Bayne, Jr., Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia (on the left) and the Reverend Canon Arthur Bell, Chaplain Annie Wright Seminary (on the right) in Raynor Chapel at the Seminary. The Annie Wright Alumnae sponsored a series of lectures by Bishop Bayne in 1951 on the topic "What the Bible means today." Proceeds from the lectures were donated to the Canon Arthur Bell scholarship fund which was set up by faculty and alumnae in recognition of Bell's long service to the school. (TNT 1/7/1951, pg. Wedding portrait of Avonne Nadine Nelson and Lt. Truman Everett Boudinot, Jr. Miss Nelson, daughter of Mrs. Hazel Morton Nelson, and Lt. Boudinot, son of Mrs. Truman Boudinot of Beverly Hills, Ca. and the late Brigadier General Boudinot, were married on a Friday afternoon, January 12, 1951, in Raynor Chapel at the Annie Wright Seminary with Reverend Arthur Bell officiating at the single ring ceremony. Miss Nelson wore a pastel pink Adrian suit with an off white straw hat trimmed with white velvet flowers and carried a bouquet of carnations, pink roses and white stephanotis. The maid of honor was Miss Constance Brady and the best man was Robert Winskill. After the ceremony, the couple left for a three week motor tour of Santa Barbara and Palm Springs. The bride attended Annie Wright and was a graduate of Mills College. The groom received his commission at West Point Military Academy. (TNT 1/14/1951, pg D-3; TNT 1/21/1951, D-2 picture only)
