ca. 1979. The historic Waddell Building, 1502-04 Pacific Ave., circa 1979. The structure was built in 1890 by builder James Waddell. It has been remodeled and in 2004 it was incorporated into the Marriott Hotel.

ca. 1979. This 1979 photograph shows the deterioration of the Commerce side of the buildings located at, left to right, 1523 Broadway and 1519-21 Broadway. The buildings are studded with broken windows and plants growing from crevices. The buildings have since been demolished and this is now the site of the Convention Center.

ca. 1979. This 1979 photograph is a view of the top story of the Citizens Bank Building, 1340-42 Pacific Ave. The structure was built in 1888 and designed by Farrell and Darmer, architects. It was the long time location of Pessemier Bros. Shoe Store. It has since been demolished.

ca. 1979. Albers Mill, circa 1979. Acme Inter City Freight Lines occupied this building from 1978-1982. Prior to that, Inter-City Auto Freight was the main building occupant from 1945-1977. It was originally built in 1903 as a cereal mill with a warehouse added later. The above view, according to a reader, is pointing east between the north side of Albers Mill and the adjacent L-shaped building that was removed a few years before the Glass Museum was constructed.

ca. 1979. The east end of the 11th St. Bridge, now the Murray Morgan Bridge, circa 1979. Dedicated in 1913, the $600,000 steel truss lift-span bridge provides a link between the downtown business district and the industrial Tideflats area. It was renamed for Mr. Morgan, perhaps the Northwest's foremost historian, in 1997.
