Need some idea for inexpensive ways to dress up the little ones on Halloween? Designer Marie Smith of Hallmark Cards Inc., suggests that the children be allows to create their own masks because "it makes Halloween more fun and gives the children of accomplishment." "Bug-eyes" is made from assorted sizes and colors of paper plates. "Pretty Piggy" is strictly a feminine pig, who will be the belle of any Halloween ball.

This residence was one of the homes moved to make way for building the sports convention center in the Hawthorne neighborhood. Hunsaker’s House Movers of Silverdale placed the home on a barge. Members of Safe Streets, and Hilltop neighbors joined their hands in prayer on the corner of S. 16th and L streets, where two Tacoma residents where shot and killed July 16th of 1990. The men, Scott Higley, and Chris Sherrod were remembered during a Hilltop celebration of National Night Out, with the theme "Sweep, Walk and Talk" for our neighborhood, or "SWAT." Two members of the gathered held hands and then placed a flower on the spot of the drug related shootings. Around 40 Iranian students marched nine miles through Tacoma, bringing attention to the revolution occurring inside Iran. They were protesting the Iranian state and the shah.
