Interior of home featuring the kitchen. A desk with telephone has been fitted into the near corner of the kitchen. Windows stretch around the corner and look out onto the paved play area. The design includes plenty of counter and storage space with the stove on the right and the sink by the windows on the left. A view into Mrs. Renna Ringo's living room. The ceiling beams have been left exposed with tounge-in-groove boards showing above. The room has nearly floor-to-ceiling windows on the left to take advantage of a view of the Tacoma Narrows from this Narrowmoor home. A large brick fireplace creates a focal point at the opposite end of the room. The is a minimum of furniture and woodwork in the room. A large, open doorway leads off to the right and a division from the living room and hallway has been created with a bookcase with translucent backing on the right. Mrs. Ringo is seated near the fireplace. Her sister, Mrs. Stewart L. Johnson, is in the foreground working on needlepoint.

Apparently taken near dark from the beach area below, the second Narrows Bridge seems nearly complete and awaiting formal dedication. Dedication ceremonies are scheduled for October 14, 1950; the culmination of many years of planning and construction. The second Narrows structure replaces the bridge destroyed in a fierce storm on November 7, 1940. Photograph ordered by Bethlehem Pacific Coast Steel Corporation, one of the many firms involved in the bridge's construction.

Interior of unidentified church. Photograph ordered by Western Builders. Western Builders was a roofing, siding and insulation company located at 1702 Sixth Avenue. According to the 1951 City Directory, Fred Wilvers and G.W. Thompson were listed as owners. Photograph taken on September 25, 1950, showed an unidentified church's interior, apparently close to the roofline, where two men are working. Address of church cannot be ascertained.

Six employees of Oxygen Sales & Service stand by their Dodge delivery trucks outside the company's building in October, 1950. As the signs on the trucks and building indicated, Oxygen Sales & Service not only were distributors of oxygen and acetylene products but also rented and repaired equipment. The company shared a building with Mayberry Motor Parts as both were owned by members of the Mayberry family.

Blue Bonnet parade in Seattle. Four young women wearing checked cotton dresses and large brimmed bonnets pose with a covered wagon drawn by two horses and driven by two men in cowboy clothes. A totem pole stands behind them and the Seattle Hotel is on the other side of one of the many streets coming together at this downtown intersection. Fritz and Georgia Glenewinkle's Collie dog presented the family with 9 puppies. When the puppies were old enough, the Glenewinkles placed them in dish towels, or diapers, and hung them from a clothesline strung across their kitchen. Perhaps, this photograph, taken in December, was for the family's holiday greeting cards.

A close-up view of one of the steins in a collection by Columbia Breweries. The foot and lid of this stein are made of metal as well as the rim of the body. The body, handle and figure of a small boy playing a horn are deeply carved and may be made of stone, ceramic or ivory. The scene on the body of the stein shows women escaping from dogs or wolves with their sheep. A boy playing a larger horn is incorporated into the handle.

Salley Farrell was a sophomore at Annie Wright in 1950-1951. She was a member of the Raynor Guild and the Bule Team that year. The sophomores were costodians of the library, co-sponsors of the Hop, sold magazine subscriptions, had the telegraph booth at the Christmas Carnival and attended the bean-eating party in gunny sacks. General Mills Sperry flour plant was one of the oldest businesses in Tacoma, and had been in the flour and grains industry for over 97 years. The plant was conveniently located in Tacoma's waterfront area by Commencement Bay, this gave the plant easy water and railroad access. Three unidentified employees at the Carstens Packing Company plant, 1623 East J St., in Tacoma look over the sides of beef hanging in one of the Carstens' meat lockers. Carstens Packing Company was the largest independent meat packing company on the West Coast, with plants in Tacoma, Seattle and Spokane. They provided quality assured wieners, beef, bacon, ham, sausage, lamb, pork, veal and many other meat products. A copy of this photograph was ordered by the Poodle Dog Restaurant in Fife to be part of the Richard's Commercial Photography photo mural at the restaurant. The Carstens Packing Company was sold to Hygrade in 1952, and closed in 1990.

Fisher's Department Store at 11th & Broadway opened their bargain basement to the public on August 18, 1949; they advertised this department as the first of its kind in Tacoma. The new department was one of the first moves made by the store during a new expansion project. Interior view of Fisher's bargain basement just after the close of opening day; sales personnel are completely exhausted and the hosiery department is completely destroyed (T.N.T., 8/18/49, p. 6).
