Scope and content
Newlyweds Lloyd and Irene Williamson posed on his 34 foot craft, the Eny Echo, as they prepared to leave May 3, 1939 on their working honeymoon to Alaska. The pair would spend their honeymoon trolling for salmon in the Alaska waters. Although her husband had worked as a professional fisherman for several years, Mrs. Williamson, the former Irene King, had never been on the ocean before. Lloyd Williamson was no stranger to the Tacoma Times. As the Times champion, he represented Tacoma at the national marble championships in 1923. At the national contest, he was crowned the Pacific Coast Regional champ and won 3rd place in the national playoffs. During the contest, he authored a series of letters that ran in the Times.
