Launching of new US Navy Destroyers "Cushing" and "Perkins" at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton on December 31, 1935. Miss Katherine A. Cushing and Mrs. Isabel Anderson were the ships' sponsors who christened the vessels with bottles of champagne. Governor Clarence D. Martin and Admiral Craven were also present. View of crowd, primarily sailors, on dock admiring the new vessels. The crowd was estimated to contain 8,000 spectators. Photograph was requested by the Bremerton Sun newspaper.
