Scope and content

Flames leaping two hundred feet in the air greeted the first firefighters to arrive at the Lilly Seed Company at 15th and St. Paul Avenue, June 2, 1952, at 8:41 p.m. A second alarm was transmitted immediately to help quell the fire. The fire could be seen from anywhere in the city as firefighters tried to control it. The 2-story frame building burned to the ground within an hour. The loss was estimated at $275,000.
