Portrait of Florence Mackey Baker at home. Mrs. Baker was the wife of John S. Baker and resided at 11407 Gravelly Lake Dr. in Lakewood. Mrs. Baker was scheduled to head the residential division in the War Chest Campaign. The War Chest contained 27 Community Chest Agencies as well as relief agencies and the USO. The annual drive was its big fund raiser. Mr. Baker was the president of Fidelity Safe Deposit Co. (later known as Fidelity Trust), John S. Baker Investment Co. and IXL Gold Mining and Milling Co. Shown during the wedding reception at the bride's parents' home on Gravelly Lake Drive following Anne Baker's marriage to Lt. William C. Johnston are, L-R, Dr. and Mrs. (Constance H.) David T. Hellyer, who were the couple's attendants, and Florence M. (Mrs. John S.) Baker and Mrs. Stanley Johnston, mothers of the newly-weds. Miss Baker and Lt. Anne Catherine Baker, daughter of John S. and Florence M. Baker, is seen wearing her wedding gown and standing in front of an elegant sofa in one of the upstairs bedrooms in her parents home. She and Lt. William Collingwood Johnston were married April 21, 1951, at Visitation Church. Anne chose a gown of imported white Chantilly lace and a fingertip length veil of illusion. Her bouquet was of eucharist lilies, stephanotis and blush pink gardenias. She had attended the Helen Bush School in Seattle and was a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. Lt. Johnston, U.S. Army, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Johnston of South Haven, Michigan. He was a graduate of Michigan State College and was aide-de-camp to General Leroy H.
