The Norwegian, Rogalands Laget Convention was held at the Messiah Lutheran Church on August 14 and 15, 1948. Norwegians came from all parts of the state; two reporters for a Norwegian newspaper published in Fargo, North Dakota, attended. The program included addresses, music and other entertainment, presented in both English and Norwegian. This group photograph was taken in front of the Messiah Lutheran Church, built as the First Norwegian Lutheran Church in 1891. Norwegian Convention honoring Director from Norway, Stavanger Lag (Lodge), Marie Sola, Secretary. 400 former residents of Stavanger, Norway, and their families gathered at the Messiah Lutheran Church for their annual Stavanger Lag over August 14th and 15th, 1948. All officers of the organization were re-elected: L-R, Gunnar Hogstat, traveling correspondent for Visergutten, a Norwegian newspaper published in Fargo, North Dakota; Peter M. Wedding portrait of Shirley Joan Trippel and Rolf Eric Lindstrom. The couple married June 13, 1952 at the Messiah Lutheran Church. The bride was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Trippel. The couple made their first home in California, where the bridegroom was stationed with the Navy.
